The Continental Group announced the promotion of Danielle E. Cooney to vice president, Commercial Property Management Division. In her new role, Cooney will provide senior level support, direction and leadership to the company’s multi-family apartment communities, retail centers and office buildings throughout the state.

Since joining Continental in 2005, Cooney has helped grow the commercial division to nearly 30 properties. Based in the company’s Orlando office, she was formerly a regional area manager. Prior to Continental, Cooney held several property management positions for companies such as Drucker & Falk, LLC.

Cooney is a certified property manager (CPM®), licensed real estate broker, licensed community association manager and certified apartment manager. She is a National Education Committee member for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and newsletter chairperson of the organization’s local Central Florida chapter. Cooney graduated from Pierce College with a bachelor’s degree in business.

Also promoted was Gary Pyott to president of its Palm Beach Region. In this role, Pyott will oversee property management services for a wide array of residential developments, including condominium high-rises, single-family developments, multifamily rental conversions and hotel-condominiums.

An eight-year employee of Continental, Pyott began his career with the company as a community association manager in the high-rise client segment. He later advanced to district manager and most recently served as business unit leader, where he managed more than 164 properties.

Christopher Pappas has been promoted to president of Continental’s Central Florida Region. In this position, Pappas will oversee property management services for a wide array of residential developments, including condominium high-rises, single-family developments, multifamily rental conversions and hotel-condominiums in 17 counties.

Pappas joined Continental more than nine years ago as a property manager for Portofino Towers and has made it his mission to enhance the client experience. He was later promoted to district manager, where he and his team were responsible for significant growth of a business unit consisting of 42 properties.

The Continental Group also announced the promotion of Wendy Lang to vice president of finance. In this role, Lang will oversee the financial integration of subsidiary companies and will lead the implementation of the company’s financial software programs.

Lang previously served as chief financial officer for Prime Management Group, a Continental subsidiary, since 2002. Prior to that, she held the same position with USI Florida, a leading global distributor of electronic components, for nearly 20 years.
